Great for Christmas lights, cat heating pad, etc. – This app is so much easier to use than Kasa, for setting the timers. They work great! I use them for the Christmas lights in two different locations, plus for the living room, light, and for my cats.

Works Best Without Alexa – Used for allow start of outside Christmas lights and inside Christmas decorations. Have 5 zones that come on and off regularly each day—some together and some separately. Powered about 25 plugs on 11 switches. Better to forget Alexa voice control because the system became confused with to many command options! Instructions are scary because of its small print but is actually easy to program once the first plug is done. Complex timing is possible. Patience required to input schedule correctly but then very dependable (without Alexa).

2.4 GHz? 5GHz? – I have the Xfinity 5GHz modem/router. Typically if it is a 2.4GHz required connection I can’t get it going. I had trouble getting this plug connected but I also have other BN-Link plugs that I am using (purchased back when I had my Netgear 2.4/5 GHz router) and they work just fine so I naturally thought these would work as well. Okay, I tried and tried to get a connection and finally initiated a return. I thought I would give it one more try and for some odd reason it connected. I don’t get it. Bottom line: These do work on the Xfinity 5GHz Modem/Router. Please don’t ask me how I got it connected, because I couldn’t tell ya. I am happy with the BN-Link plugs however.

Love these things – I use a combination of BN, Wyze and Hue. For the price the BN stuff is great. The programming is a little bit more fussy (similar to IFTTT programming) and the timer isn’t *quite* as precise, but they always work and they work well. The Hue and Wyze plugs are always in sync down to the second. The BN products always seem to be about 22-30 seconds behind – not a huge deal. But if you want everything to be perfectly in sync you might want to keep all the brands the same in your chain.
