Cuts down on sludge! – I like a fine grind of coffee, so it always seeps through those metal mesh filters and ends up the in the bottom of the coffee cup as mud or “sludge”. Yuk. Paper filters help with that, and another plus is that since the paper filters contain the grounds better, clean up is faster and easier. I was buying them at a local store until I found these on Amazon. I will order them from now on because they are not only much less expensive, but they are also unbleached, natural paper, which is supposed to be a healthier option.

I use them with the Keurig refillable K-Cups. While they have a screen/mesh which acts as a filter for the larger size grinds, they let through the very very fine particles. These filters block those. What I like even more is the fact that unlike other white colored paper folters, these ones have not been bleached. So its good for the environment. If that factors into your purchasing options. I’m now on either my second or third box of these and have had no issues.
