Great for new DeWalt battery advancements – I’m definitely a DeWalt guy..I have some older equipment but the old heavy batteries and they don’t hold a charge. I bought some newer equipment and those batteries are far superior and more slender too. The best part is I can use those batteries with this adapter. That’s the best part but and there’s always a but.. it’s extremely difficult to get the battery off the adapter. At times I want to use large channel locks to push the side release buttons to get the battery to slid off..SUPER frustrating and maybe I just got a defect. I have just dealt with it because it works for the older tools I have in multi tools case.

Muy util – Tengo varias herramientas de 18 volts y las baterías ya no cargaban bien y me regalaron otro taladro con cargador y baterías de 20 volts y mejor me compré el convertidor de 18 a 20 volts para adaptar las otras herramientas

DEWALT 18v to 20v Adapter – Bare (DCA1820) – This DEWALT 18v to 20v Adapter is great. I have several DeWalt tools now that are 20v but I still have a heavy-duty hammer drill and battery consuming reciprocating saw that are 18v and my old 18v batteries are getting weak. Not wanting to replace the good working tools or buy new 18v batteries, I decided to try this adapter. The adapter works great. I do find it hard to remove the adapter from the tool if a bigger battery is attached such as 5ah. I found that removing the battery from the adapter then the adapter from the tool works very well so no issue.

Great Adaptor for 18v tools. Keeps them Alive, but doesn’t fit all tools – Bought this to adapt my 18v tools to new lithium ion batteries. This adaptor when coupled with the battery is difficult to remove from tool. Is best to leave the adaptor in place and remove only the battery. Some people report not to leave battery coupled to adaptor is it drains battery, but I haven’t experienced this. Use it on my drill, but doesn’t fit well on my dewalt vacuum. It works, but I have to remove the adaptor and battery to swap out battery as there isn’t enough clearance to remove only the battery. Other than that, it breathes new life into my 18V dewalt tools!

Cheaper than packs of NiCad batteries. Keep those old tools working. – I hate condemming tools. If they still work, they get used. I seemed to be endlessly rebuilding battery packs until I had my light bulb moment – modify these things, move to Lithium Iron, and keep them in service.

Decent adapter for the 18v tools – I had a Dewalt drill and impact that used the 18v batteries, but the batteries I had finally wore out. I looked at purchasing new ones, but I hate having a bunch of different batteries and chargers for my tools. I found this while searching for replacement batteries and thought I’d give it a try. Here are a few pros/cons that I’ve found with this:
