Better than brushless – Where I work at we use impacts and drills all day long Monday through Friday. We at the shop choose DeWalt because they’re built tough. We have brushless impacts and we also have the DeWalt model DCF 885 which have brushes. We choose life of an impact than just power and speed. What a lot of people don’t realize is choosing brushless will eventually go out on them. The brushes are inside the motor. Once the brushes wear out you have to buy a new motor which cost about the same as a new one. The 885 has brushes at the back of the motor that can very easily be replaced. The brushes can also be bought here on Amazon. We buy packs of two’s. Be a long time before it wears out.

DwWalt for under $200! – Wow! Impact/driver , drill, 2 batteries and the charger. Plus a carrying bag. All high quality stuff for less than $200 (cyber Monday deal) I would recommend even regular price, especially if your planning on doing a lot of building around the house or even as a contractor.

I bought them as an upgrade for the older 18V Dewalt tools (hammer drill, compact drill, and circular saw) which I have owned for almost a decade. All I can say is HOLY COW THESE ARE AMAZING!

Lemon or bad quality – Drill has been inconsistent since purchase, with the motor failing to engage when I pull the trigger about 1 in 5 times, false-starts where the motor engages for a half second before stopping, and occasional smells from the motor. It just died while drilling 1/8 inch drainage holes in a plastic planter. I have used it for the last 12 months for light home remodeling. Would not recommend this brand.

Powerful little driver! – Less than half the price of Milwaukee, and packs a surprising punch! Pretty light weight, I used it for rebuilding my deck, drives in 4 inch self tapping bolts into beams with no problem, deck screws were no problem! Came with 2 batteries that have a decent work time, by the time one goes dead the other is charged! When used for over an hour, it does get pretty hot, should give it time to cool… very happy with this tool! I did have an accident with it, as I was repairing the gate for my pool, (you can probably guess where this is going) , I place it on the ledge, closed the gate, the vibration cause it to take a swim in the pool! So I was pissed, let it sit after blowing the tool and the battery out with compressed air. After a few days tried it, turned slow then nothin! I brought it home, put the other battery in it, works perfect! ( thank god) ! Took the battery apart, totally corroded! So now I have one battery . Highly recommend !
