Just what I needed – I’ve wanted one of these Dewalt Multi Tools for some time. I finally splurged on myself and bought this one. I haven’t done any actual projects with it yet, but I had to try it out. I found it to be much easier and versatile than I expected. I wish I had bought it much sooner.

DeWalt has Outstanding Customer Service! – I ordered a DeWalt DCS356 XR Multi Tool kit from Amazon.com at a discounted price. It was a return item shipped from the Amazon Warehouse. When I received the tool I could see that it looked brand new and included a tool bag, charger, battery, two blades and an a blade adapter kit but it did not work. When I depressed the trigger the LED light flashed once but absolutely nothing happened after that. Apparently, the Amazon Warehouse didn’t bother to inspect the tool after it was returned. They just threw the box into another box and shipped it to me (including the Amazon purchase receipt from the original purchaser).

Great tool – I like the quick change with the blades. No need to have a tool to change the blades. The blades also stay locked in place. You don’t have to worry that the oscillation of the tool loosing the bolt that holds the blade in place. The light on the tools is a nice as well.

Milwaukee Guy loves this tool!! – All of my stuff is Milwaukee, Makita, or Ryobi, but honestly tried this because a friend owned it and this is the best multi-tool on the market in my opinion. The thing that sold it for me is the variable speed trigger very good for plunge cutting or delicate little intricate cuts where you want to start up slow. I have barely used my M18 multi-tool since buying this as the Milwaukee only has an on and off button with a variable speed dial.

Great tool. Not the best but still great. – Compared to a Milwaukee FUEL oscillating tool the Dewalt comes up slightly short in every category. If the Milwaukee scores a 10 then the Dewalt is a 9. The Dewalt is still great and does everything well but has slightly more vibration, not as powerful etc but we are just talking slightly less. Dewalt is def 2nd best and that’s a huge compliment because that means it’s so much better than 99% of the oscillating tools out there. TWO big pluses for the Dewalt are that it cost half as much and it’s tool-less so you can change out the blades in a snap. Makes you wonder why all manufacturers don’t have the same type of set up. Might be proprietary? One big negative for this is that the battery that came with this is literally the weakest battery Dewalt makes. Good thing I already own a bunch of Dewalt batteries that are stronger and have more Amp hours.
