BEST RECHARGEABLE SCREWDRIVER. – I have been thinking of buying this DEWALT 8V MAX Cordless Screwdriver Kit, Gyroscopic, 2 Batteries, Electric (DCF680N2) but it was too expensive for me $119. I was searching for something else and happened to see it selling for $79 and i said No Way but it was truly selling for $79. It was God sent for me and I immediately placed the order and received it in one day. Today I used it a little. at first i could not figure out how it works – as I did not see any Reverse Switch but it took me one minute or less to figure it out and i said to myself this thing is like the Tesla car no brakes the accelerator controls everything. I was pleasantly surprised as while busy working I don’t have fumble with reverse switch at all, just my hand movement does it. Think of it as a “Mind Reader” but no need to even speak like Hey Siri, just by moving my hand it goes Forward & Reverse. I must say that DeWalt engineers are really breaking the barrier. I love DeWalt tools even though i could not get DeWalt stickers from them- ha ha. Going back to the purchase it is once again selling for $119. It came in a DeWalt Carry Bag with zipper, Two Rechargeable batteries and a special type of Charger as the batteries are really Tiny not like the other rechargeable batteries and also Two red plastic battery caps to protect the Contacts – may be it was meant for shipping? don’t know but the caps are sturdy (not throw away type) so I have saved them and keep the battery contacts covered when not in use. If you are wondering why I am writing everything so positive well there is one thing that I wish DeWalt had done and that is to provide a “Hard Shell Zippered Case” in lieu of the bag they always provide. I had to buy a carrying case Khanka Hard Carrying Case Replacement for DEWALT DCF682N1 / DCF680N2 8V MAX Cordless Screwdriver Kit, Gyroscopic, Case Only) for $17.99 on sale

– I guess I didn’t realize that there is NO option to simply press a button to screw/unscrew. Your only option is the gryoscopic thing, which makes it harder to use for me than a simple on/off go/no-go button. To be clear, you have to press the button for it to work at all, but then you ALSO have to twist it. If you let go of the button, now you have to press it again and twist it again. I had hoped this would be useful for assembling (and disassembling) computers, but it really isn’t a good fit for this use.

Easy to use once you start working with it – Normally I love it’s family related Ryobi devices. The closest thing I can find in the Ryobi line was for volts, and the battery was built in. Dewalt has external 8 V batteries along with the Gyro twist which took a little getting used to in the way of direction.

Best cordless screwdriver I’ve ever used. – This DeWalt gyroscopic cordless screwdriver is simply fantastic. I recently used it to replace 24 sets of doorknobs in our house and it performed flawlessly. It took me a few minutes to get used to the gyroscopic control, however, I found I had precise control of speed and torque once I got the hang of it. I also love the fact that you can reverse direction simply by rotating your hand clockwise or counterclockwise. The variable speed and torque and built-in clutch meant I could drive screws without worries about stripping out screws or cross-threading. After I got used to how it worked, it was like the screwdriver knew exactly what I wanted and needed to do. I didn’t really need to think about it. It is powerful enough for most jobs where you need to drive screws, although I will probably continue to use my DeWalt cordless drill for heavier duty tasks. This is a professional quality tool and I’ve already ordered two more sets as Christmas presents for my step-son and son-in-law. Highly, highly recommended!

My Favorite Electric Screwdriver EVER! – The Dewalt 8V Gyroscopic screwdriver is an excellent tool. A simple press of the button and slight twist of the wrist causes the screwdriver to activate. The more you twist, the faster the screwdriver turns, very similar to the throttle on a motorcycle. To prevent accidental activation while in your tool bag or backpack, a lock switch prevents the function button from being pressed.
