Great for Ring Pro – My Ring Pro would stop working at night (mostly) because of the increased power draw for the lights. My old transformer was showing 12V during the day but less than 9V at night. Replaced the old transformer with this item and now everything is as it should be. The Ring PC app shows it to be 40VA, even though it’s supposed to be 30. If this presents any problems, I’ll report back. As of now, it’s all good.

Finally, an internal door bell ring – So, I don’t have a Ring, I actually have an Amcrest Camera Doorbell. I was having an issue by using the old transformer, it was the standard 10va 16volt transformer that couldn’t support the amcrest doorbell camera. I could get a picture, but the internal mechanical chime would shake, but never actually register when pressed by the button. I read on it and a lot of other people had the same issue and they said they needed a 30va 16volt transformer. I tried this one out and I have my internal chime again and the camera works fine. No issues installing it and it came with the cable connectors.

Ring Pro Fixed – Easy to install (just put right in place of the old one). I didn’t realize the existing transformer was only 12V and 5VA. Whoops. Ring pro was offline very quickly. This new transformer solved the issue, and my ring pro is back to running good.

Chime working now with Nest Doorbell – I had the original 10VA transformer (house built 1982). The hammer in our old chime was “twitching” but enough to chime. We’re using a Nest wired doorbell. Replacing the transformer fixed the problem. Also, I discovered the old transformer was not grounded (2 wire). So the new one is also a minor safety improvement. Last point…. After being hooked up an hour, I feel no warmth in the transformer at all. Not sure what the problem might be for those reporting hot transformers.
