Works well – Good product, good price

Fixed my chipped desk – Fixed a thumb sized chip on my IKEA desk. Spread this stuff on it, taped on some thin cardboard to form it, and finally used 3 different grits of sand paper to sand it down smooth. Super easy to sand, just turns into white powder. Though this stuff is pretty soft even after 2 weeks of drying compared to real wood. If you press down lightly with your fingernail, it will leave a mark on it.

A different type of filler – It comes in a small plastic tube, and so the actual quantity of product isn’t very great. So cost per amount of use is not cheap.

Works for small holes – This stuff worked really well in small areas. I repaired my door with a two-part epoxy type of wood from another company but by the time I was finished and had run out they were a couple small spots I wanted to still fill and I didn’t want to have to buy two big tubs of the two-part product so I purchased some of this to fill in little holes. It seemed to have worked really well, it goes on pretty easy but it does dry very quickly. At first I was a little concerned because when it started to dry it seemed very chalky and I was afraid it wouldn’t dry hard but in the end after 24 hours I came back and it was just as hard as the two part epoxy product and I was able to sand it down with the rest of the door. I found that because it dries so quickly it was hard to flatten it out so I ended up molding it with my fingers once it had dried a little bit and that made it so much easier to work with. I applied it everywhere I needed it and then let it sit for a couple minutes and went back in to flatten it out, move it around and even shape it with my fingers.

Great filler for plastic model kits. – In the USA, we have a sad tendency to define everything by “use” before anything else. Manufacturers create a thing and you, slave, are ordered to use it ACCORDING TO THE LABEL. In fact, some labels tell you that not using the product according to directions is a FEDERAL CRIME. Sheesh! I know they’re trying to discourage “huffing” but really– are we just sheep or what? This is a fine, plastic fuller putty that can be used for model building or any other use where a filler that can be wiped away with a damp cloth would be handy. It dries HARD and can be SANDED. The characteristics would allow this great product to be used on ALL KINDS of ways BUT the label says “WOOD FILLER” and some people will believe that it can ONLY be used for that. I know you old guys are laughing at this– but younger people are easily confused by our crazy labeling. Seriously– what is wrong with selling a product to MULTIPLE uses? I suppose that one day, paste for gluing paper will be repackaged and sold as “EDIBLE PASTE” with a warning that “failure to follow label instructions is A FEDERAL CRIME!” Shut up and eat your paste!

Baseboard saver! – I have a large dog that has scratched or chewed corners on my baseboards and a kid who rides a hoverboard in the house… our baseboards have experienced more than a little damage. This filler has allowed me to fill, repair, recreate the baseboards in spots here and there instead of replacing the whole length. I spread it over or fill-in/build up the missing space, let it dry, and use a block of wood and sandpaper to sand it down to match the angles, curves and detail of the surrounding baseboard. My fixes might not be worthy of a spread in Architectural Digest, but they look pretty darn great with a little bit of paint. I highly recommend trying this product. Worst that happens, you just replace your baseboard.

Unexpectedly Awesome – Sorry for no pic. I’m a bit lazy. This worked out perfectly! We bought a little place in Florida to work from home in winter and avoid 13 inches of snow in Ohio. The whole place is this blond colored paneling. Am I living the salt life now?

Favorite White Filler – We have taken on home renovations the last several years, so I have tried many fillers, both white and brown. This is by far my favorite and I have purchased multiple tubes. I am using it to fill nail holes on interior wood (not mdf) trim. Trim is painted white. You can sand or wipe with a wet rag. An issue I have experienced with other white fillers is showing through white paint even after multiple coats. Not a problem with Elmer’s. Only caveat is it can be difficult to squeeze at times, especially if cut the tip finer/smaller or if the cap is left off. But that seems common with similar products also. I will definitely continue to purchase. No issues cleaning off hardwood flooring or tile.
