This is an easy fix – It works. I had replaced my flush valve with a ball type float valve—2 weeks ago. It was not a good decision. This fluid master 400 is perfect. Good instructions and superior mechanism. Buy it. It works right.

Problem with “noise reducer” in bottom of fill tube – I’ve used these fill valves for years and they usually install with no problems. However, in the last batch I bought, 1 of the 3 units had the one-way valve in the bottom of the fill tube installed upside down, but that one worked fine. The “correct” position of this white plastic gadget in the other two prevented any water from entering the tank! Luckily I was able to compare the bottom of the new unit to the old one I removed and see that they were different, and to extract the valve without breaking it, so I could install it so that it worked. I wrote to tech support and they insisted that the position with a cross showing in the plastic is the right one, but that did not work in my toilet. Weird.

Highly adjustable replacement valve – This toilet valve works perfectly and only took me 15 minutes and a wrench to install. The valve functions as expected and fixed my issue with a previous valve that wouldn’t shut off. The instructions included are easy to follow and there are plenty of videos to watch if you need further clarification. This is an easy repair and saves a lot of money over paying a plumber!

do not buy the rubber ball valve, BUY THIS! – So I moved to washington from the midwest. Both toilets worked fine, then one failed (kept running). Open the tank to find the rod completely rusted out and broken. I don’t know if this is a washington thing, or if they use rods without coating but I have never in my life seen one fail so badly. Searched my local home depot and saw they mostly sold these type (guessing both because plastic means no rust getting flushed down the drain), and the fact that it has adjustable water level to converse water. Installed super easy, I like the design. I did have an issue where it kept filling the bowl, but it was because I didn’t use the included clip (stuck the tube down the existing hole, but too far), so make sure you use the included clip!
