Franklin M210 is great! – The M210 is much quicker and more accurate than my Zircon HD 800 stud finder. The Zircon gives different stud locations I approach a stud from its left and the right sides. So I must do two or three passes from each direction and average them out. This time consuming and the final result may not be on center of the stud. Using an inconsistent tool is frustrating.

Easy to use though results can be confusing – Vastly better than my previous single sensor device. 10% the results could be confusing. Readings from 2 similar positions could sometimes give contradictory results i.e. structural timber seemed to move but because I can’t see in the wall it’s not obvious why. I have to remember it’s reliant on sound waves and the density of material under it which can be a big unknown. The tool was easy to use and I was able to survey the wall quickly. By using small bits of tape I could see the pattern to the framing and make appropriate decision when mounting 7 plant pots on my daughters wall for her.

THAT’S what I’m TALKIN’ ‘bout!!! – You can find my review (not flattering) of a cheaper stud finder elsewhere. I ordered this as a replacement, and it is DOGGONE AWESOME! Easy to use, insanely accurate – for what more can you ask? This product is worth at least what you pay for it. Highly recommend!

easy to use and accurate. read the detailed instruction carefully! – Works well and is accurate. Some users said (me too) that it was inaccurate because it showed a stud that wasn’t there. Remember it will show anything solid like electrical conduit, Romex wire, stereo speaker wire, BX Cable, CoAx cable, HDMI wire, an extra stud or brace, ect.

Found studs/joists with ease! – I was due for a new stud finder to replace my 10+ yo B&D Laser level stud finder..which I trust only for its laser at this point. After finding lots of positive reviews and demonstrations on how it worked, figured I’d go with this fully loaded Franklin Sensors model, because you get to ‘see’ the stud with use of the LEDs. I used it to successfully locate the joists in my garage for a Fleximount 4′ x 8′ hanging shelf install. I had the ceiling brackets safely mounted in about 1 hour (which use of my Dewalt 1/2 lug nut driver), which I considered a big win. There was only one joist where it was totally off by 1″ to 2″, as the tool showed a phantom joist that simply wasn’t there after drilling (and even again after follow on checks)…but was nearby. For finding wall studs, I anticipate it being a breeze, and this is the tool to get! Highly recommend a Franklin Sensors stud finder. No need to get anything that has even more features.
