Solid Product **only uses WiFi 2.4G** – The product works well…but only because I still had my old WiFi extender that offers a 2.4G range. This product does not connect to WiFi 5G that most current routers have. If your router has 2.4G support, this product works wonderfully. Alexa integration was pretty smooth. Download the specific company app and add these plugs, then Alexa can import them from that app. Also, each plug (right and left) can be controlled separately both manually or through the app/Alexa.

I love this thing! – Perfect for my Christmas decorations around the house. I don’t need to get up to see if I remember to turn all the christmas lights/decorations off. I can control them now on my phone. BUT, I had a hard time installing or pairing it to my phone. Here’s my situation and how I solved it and made it work after an hour.

The instruction leaflet that the socket came with can use a little updating. It was confusing and it took several tries to add the smart socket to the app. The app itself was not too confusing, but it still took several tries to connect the device. Then when I went to link the socket to my Alexa it gave me an error in the Alexa app. It said the app was not current. Well I was not able to update the HBN app, possibly because it is the most recent version. Alexa then also gave me an option to switch to the Smart Life app. At first I thought “oh is this the updated version” and since I already had the app for my other sockets I use, I just switched over and everything just automatically linked after I connected the app to socket. What a breeze. It turns out the Smart Life app is a totally different app all together and it seems to serve as a catch-all app for many of the different brand devices out there. In fact the other sockets that I was already using the app for were for a totally different brand.

Great smart plugs – I really like these smart switches. The smart phone app is great. Why pay more when these will get the job done well. We have a fountain in our entry way. I don’t want it to run while we sleep — an easy program schedule has the fountain and the spot light turning off and on in unison. Especially during the holiday season, save money by programming a schedule for lights to turn on/off is sooo easy. I couldn’t be happier. I bought 3 of these switches and have them all working for me.
