Easy to set up and use – I have used their bulbs so this Christmas I decided to give their receptacles a try. Best decision I made this year for decorations. I no longer have 4 different mechanical timers on all my Christmas lights that I could never get timed up the same. They would always be off by a few seconds – minutes. Then the kids or dogs would bump into them and either unplug them and the time would be off or touch the timer settings and now the lights would be all over the place. These are easy to set up and program. Being able to turn them on from the app anywhere is also nice. I have not used the Alexa integration yet.

Pain in the butt but eventually works – I’ve got a bunch of these. You have to download a separate app, wait 24 hrs with the thing plugged in And connected to Wi-Fi to update then it’s ready for use. Hard to re name. Make the name the same as in Alexa app or it gets confused. Set up is a pain but stays ok for years afterward.

After some research, I stumbled upon the Kasa smart plugs which seemed like a dream come true. Comparatively, there were cheaper than the Philips Hue series and the reviews were consistently great. I took a chance and boy, I am extremely happy with these (as well as the outdoor plug). It was as simple as 1-2-3 as far as setting them up. I read a couple reviews saying the app doesn’t work and sync with their plugs. Not sure what all the fuss is all about but they worked perfectly fine. It’s nice that you can set up a schedule as well as a ‘group’ so all devices can turn on and off depending on what device you’ve chosen. It’s also nice to say, “Alexa, turn on ‘Christmas Decorations'” and all the lights turn on. I’ve also set up “Movie Night” where the Christmas tree and some window lights turn off so there isn’t glare.

Got tired of that happening so I bought some of these Kasa smartplugs hoping to get away from the WeMo ones. Success! No more disconnecting and these Kasa work better and faster than the WeMo. The app also boots up much quicker to where my plugs are quickly available.

Great product! – I LOVE this brand!!! I’ve given all the other kooky brands away to neighbors and bought all Kasa plugs and bulbs. I got one as a gift 6 years ago and love it. It still works, btw… I’m a little behind the times and JUST started changing everything over to wifi. The first bulb I set up took about 5 minutes but everything after that was super quick. The Kasa app is super user friendly, which we appreciate because we’re old, and now our lives are so much easier. Crazy how something that once seemed so frivilous is now such a huge part of my everyday life. haha I no longer need to search for light switches or get out of bed because I forgot to turn off the wax burner or the spa lights. HIGHLY recommend Kasa!!! If I can set this stuff easily, ANYONE can do it!! Also, it’s fun to think of Alexa as my personal assistant. haha
