Doesn’t seem to work on smaller gauge wires – Being a long-time model railroader, I am always on the lookout for a more useful tool. We modelers constantly have the need to strip electrical wires and I thought this tool would be great. Please understand that the tool DOES work…on larger gauge wires. When I tried to strip the thin wires that Woodland Scenics includes on its Just Plug range the stripper didn’t work. I does, however, work extremely well on larger gauge wires (such as 14 ga. house wire).

Satisfying to use – I really like using these. I’ve only used knives or cheap wire strippers before I got these, and they are well worth getting. One tip is that you need to squeeze the handle all the way so that it releases the clamp on the wire before the striping head comes back.
