Makes putting ends on data cable a breeze. – I was a little redisent about this tool not being shaped like a pair of plyers like I was always used to (until the day it walked away…) This tool is a breeze to use and does just exactly what it is advertised to do. Perfect ends every time!

Life Changing – I always used a cheap crimper that was around when I started working. Bought this and it was so nice that I went around the whole shop replacing all the broken ethernet jacks just to keep using this wonderful tool.

Works Great! What To Check If You Are Having Problems. – EDIT: After using this some more I finally ran into it not cutting off the outside wires. In my case every time it had done this was due to wire being stuck in the crimper. As in you go to use it and one of the wires doesn’t go all the way through the crimper, so it’s a bit underneath or above the connector. You don’t notice at first and crimp it. The bit of wire stops the crimper from fully crimping and cutting the conductors. Sometimes it’s not obvious at first, and you gotta look in there and find the bit of wire that got stuck. I’m assuming if this is your first time using a pass through crimper, like it was mine, you wouldn’t know to look out for this. So if yours is having issues, check this first.

It may be expensive, but it WORKS – Over the course of my career I’ve terminated more Cat5/RJ45 than I can count. The old non-pass through are a PAIN but I usually had a 90% success rate. When I saw pass through connectors, it was WOW! I bought a bag that claimed Cat5/Cat6. I’ve already left a crap review for that product. I literally spent HOURS trying to get 3 pairs to work with Cat5e. They ALL failed. Either shorted or bad connection. The crimp tool used has served me 20 years. So in desperation I bought this Klein kit. I’m 4/4 today in an hour. This includes running back and forth with the tester.

Excellent tool and a “must have” for anyone serious about physical networking – I’ve been making cable for more than a decade. And before this, I’ve never had or used the “push through” style. And let me tell you, it’s amazing. Just line up your wires (btw, there’s a cheater guide for wire order on the side of the tool), push through the RJ45 and crimp. You barely even have to think about it. It’s 100% clear when a wire didn’t get through correctly (and easy to fix). You don’t have to worry about trying to crimp in just the right spot to get the sheathing. And you don’t even need to trim the wires after, the tool trims when it crimps!

Works almost as well as a $50 crimping tool should, but better than the alternatives – At $50, this is an expensive tool to me. It is roughly twice the price of no-name alternatives. It’s not like I’m making 100’s of cables with it. I will probably make a dozen, but they will be of custom lengths for direct burial CAT6, PoE access points, as well as PoE cameras. At that rate, it adds about $4 to each cable I make with it vs $2. However, my time is also expensive to me too. With the right tool, the job of attaching connectors to the cable can go faster.
