A safe purchase among a thousand choices – If you’re looking for this type of light, the choices are daunting. When there are so many choices for an item, I often wish I could simply know which one was a safe bet so I hope this review is helpful simply to let people know that this one is a safe purchase and completely suitable.

After 10 months of use it’s still a very bright and useful lamp. – I do like this little lamp. It is simple, reasonably well-made and I like the arm adjustments and light adjustments and it fits well on my office desk. The arm is long enough to go over the top of my 22 inch monitor and light my desktop. The only issue I had was about 2 months ago it began working intermittently. Some times it would flicker or appear very dim and other times it would work just fine. I quickly realized after moving the cable around that there was a break in the wire at the USB connector. It would work fine if I bent the cable just right, but as I plugged and unplugged other cables from my USB power supply it would move the lamp wire and the light would go out. Today, it went out entirely, so I took a few minutes to cut the old connector off, strip the wires back and solder a replacement plug I cut from an older USB cable I wasn’t using. The lamp cord only uses two wires for power (red and black), so it was a simple fix and it works great now. I assume there are many who have bought this lamp and never have a problem, but I also assume some who may encounter the same problem so I figured I should leave that in a review. If it weren’t for that I would give it 5 stars, but if I didn’t have the knowledge and tools to fix the connector I would probably give it a 1 star. Hope that helps!

Not a fan of the USB plug in but great lamp otherwise – This lamp works great! It’s very sleek and easy to use. I love that each light setting can be dimmed or brightened and that the light can be turned so it’s not shining directly in your face all the time. Personally, I don’t care for the USB and adapter connection instead of a normal plug. It just seems unnecessary. I also wish the cord was a bit longer so that the remote is more accessible. My lamp is set up on the far right hand of my desk and close to the outlet yet the cord and built in remote are placed weird so I have to try using the remote from behind my monitor. I would prefer a long cord and better remote placement or at least a separate remote so it’s more easily accessible. Love this lamp otherwise!

Took me longer to realize the USB’s contact pads were melting and warping the plastic in the USB and they sank in, causing a number of moment of turning off on its own. I fixed it with some soldering and an old USB I had.
