Poor instructions but it ultimately worked – I was very frustrated using this tool with my LED lights. First of all, my string from Menards had not one, but three wires connecting each bulb and I had to test all three each time, so that was time-consuming. After narrowing it. down to one bad bulb, I tried swapping that out with a good one from the end of the light string. Well that didn’t work- turns out you need to have working bulbs in ALL the sockets in order for your string to work. I think the written instructions could have used more illustrations as they were hard to follow, but watching the YouTube video helped. Also, I don’t think the black pods would work with three-sting lights like mine because I couldn’t tell which wire was live. If you’re a handyman or good with electric repairs, this is your tool, but the layperson could use a little more guidance.

You do need to watch the video, and it will not only explain how the product works but provides you the knowledge on how the light sets function. After watching the video, it took me less than 10 minutes to fully diagnose and repair my prelit Christmas tree! I am a hero now!

A must have. – Overall this is a must have if you have led Christmas lights. Super easy to use. Lots of great YouTube videos on how to use. The only reason I gave 4stars instead of 5, is the manual does not mention how to use the fuse and lamp tester. After watching a YT video, I quickly understood how to use the device. I super quickly fixed a string of lights.

FIXED in 2 minutes! – Like this companies LIGHT KEEPER PRO for incandescent christmas tree bulbs which we have been using for years to quickly and effectively show and fix burnt out bulbs, this LED version if INDISPENSIBLE If you own LED light set or LED lighted ornamentals with replaceable bulbs! WILL NOT WORK IF BULBS NOT REPLACEABLE!

Worked as advertised – I had one fairly long LED “icicle” string that had a 4ft section go dark last year. When I started putting up my lights this year, that section was still out. I decided to try this tester and within about 5 minutes I had isolated the problem down to a single LED. I replaced the LED and the section came back to life. It definitely saved me from having to buy a new string.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT – If you love to decorate with lots of lights for the Holidays, this tool is not a good to have but a MUST to have. I had two sets of net lights that went out. Only portions of the net would light up so i didn’t want to replace the entire set nor did i want to test each light one at a time on the section that was not lit. I decided to order this after reading the reviews and watching the demo video. I was somewhat skeptical at how easy the video made it look to repair the burnt out LED lights but i decide to try it anyway. WOW!!! It took me less than 10 mins to fix both nets. This exceeded my expectations and more. I was so impressed i bought the incandescent companion the Light Keeper Pro, can’t wait to fix one of my twinkling light ball ornament that also needs to be fixed.

Pays For Itself! – The first time I used the tool I repaired four 25 ft light strands in about 25 minutes, saving me more than the cost of the LED Keeper! The tool is easy to use and I recommend watching one of the videos on Youtube starting out. After your first repair, you’ll feel like a pro and be able to fix an unlit string in minutes. In addition to finding the bad bulb, the tool has a bulb remover to save your fingernails, a bulb tester, and also a fuse tester built in! Great value for the money.

Save money & time – Great little device to save time and money instead of buying lights every year when a half of the string dies and you can’t figure out which bulb is bad. There is a learning curve if you follow the instructions. But once you get the hang of it you can go through a string of bulbs in a matter of minutes and find your bad one. Brought back to life six strings of lights that I knew were bad. It has the function to test the lightbulb, fuse and the string of wires. Good investment instead of having to run out and replace your lights.
