Not all solder wick is created equal – I used to think that all solder wick was created equal, I was wrong. I got this solder wick when I was in a pinch because prime 2-day deliver was very convenient. It is a very good price honestly. Couple things I do not like with this product, first being that it is way too easy to poke a hole through the braid if you are using a fine tip soldering tip. It being a very small size anyways, so you do not have very many options of what soldering tip you are going to use. I used to think solder wick is solder wick, don’t they all have the same amount of suction power? Was wrong about that too. It is difficult for this wick to suck up solder in a small hole like the holes for the post of a HDMI port. Before you assume I was not using the right tip for heat exchange, let me say I used the same tip on a piece of old solder wick (different brand) and it did what this solder wick could not. This wick can handle simple desoldering tasks just fine. But when it comes to intricate micro soldering, I would not recommend this product.
