Well made – I bought this outdoor outlet because the Etekcity indoor outlets and light switches we’ve had for several years have worked flawlessly. I don’t know why Amazon no longer sells the single indoor outlets. We love those things and DO NOT WANT to buy other brands that require different, less capable apps.

Perfect for my outdoor fountain and tree lights – For years I have been using timers for my outdoor fountain and tree lights. They did the job but anytime I would need to change a setting, I would have to usually unplug it, bring it inside where I can see the tiny switches or numbers and then take it back outside. I’ve been using wifi outlets inside my home for several years now and have them on an easy to set up schedule. It never really crossed my mind that there could be an outdoor wifi outlet with 2 plugs. And then I stumbled across the Etekcity outdoor smart plug and thought I’d give it a shot. The setup was fairly simple. I’ve set up many of my indoor smart plugs so I was already familiar with the process. Even so, I had some minor difficulties getting this one going. Whenever I attempted to have it search for my wifi, I would get a “timed out” message. I was less than 10 feet from my wifi hub. After restarting the app, and maybe 10 tries later, I finally got it connected. I created 2 schedules. One for each plug. The process is similar to other wifi plugs with some minor differences but you can usually figure them out. Once I got the schedules set up, I waited to see if they worked. And so far it has worked flawlessly. Best of all, I can control everything from my phone which is very very convenient. I love this smart plug and would highly recommend it.

My four Etekcity plugs are working perfectly! – I am using the plugs for outdoor up lighting. I have not integrated them with Alexa yet because I like turning them without her involved.

Cheaper then the competitor product and setup is three steps – As a tech savvy person when I saw the instructions were a little booklet of 5 pages I was worried. 3 min later the device is setup and integrated into Google home! That’s right, setup was 3 steps! Great price vs wemo equivalent. My only concern is you either have to use both plugs or use an old baby outlet cover because the included cover is for both or neither. As the devices in my home start to fail they will be replaced by etekcity products!

Using it on my mining rig and considering getting another for my outside shed, would be nice to be able to turn it on in the winter remotely to give it time to warm up before I go out there.
