Seals very well and doesn’t leak – I’ve had a number of plastic K-cups and they always seem to warp and leak at the top, which doesn’t create the best cup of coffee and makes quite a mess. I gave this one a try and so far it hasn’t leaked or given me any problems, so I’m quite happy with it. It forms a good, tight seal at the top. The mesh is also sturdier than the ones used on the plastic cups, so it is easy to clean as well.

Good Simple Quality – I’m trying to avoid plastics in regards to food and anything heated. I was very pleased to find this all metal reusable k-cup. It is a very simple little product but the quality is excellent and it is easier to clean that the plastic and mesh type I’ve tried before. Besides the metal there is a silicone-like material on the lip, I presume it is there to help keep the lid on during the brew. I’m not really sure what this material is but I’m not concerned because it doesn’t interact with the water or coffee. This cup allows water to flow more freely than the store-bought cups so I find using the ‘strong’ setting on the brewer makes a better coffee. This is because the water is pushed more slowly so you get more coffee goodness, at least that’s my theory. If you’re looking to avoid plastics or just reduce waste I recommend giving this little contraption a try. Also nice if you’re favorite coffee isn’t available in k-cups. There’s a little scoop I found on Amazon called Perfect Pod EZ-Scoop that helps measure out the coffee then the other side has a funnel to dump it into the cup. Put that scoop with this reusable cup and you’ve got a very quick and easy setup for your morning coffee.

Way to expensive, but I do like — no plastic. – I was concerned drinking coffee brewed through plastic every morning and plastic waste to mother earth. Works ok with ground coffee in my older Keurig. The filters help with coffee grounds clean up— much, much easier. Easier to clean/remove the filter and grounds after it cools down. I am returning the scoop. For me it’s easier and not as messy to use a small spoon I purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond for $00.99. It’s about the size of a jelly spoon. For one metal mesh coffee holder, way overpriced, which is why I only gave it a 4 star.
