Very handy, very useful, very flexible, very bright–to the possible detriment of those around you – I’ve got a lot of headlamps I like, most of which have the unfortunate side effect of blinding anyone you look at. And while I can see far ahead on a trail or in camp, their beam is very focused, which makes broader vision less effective, like when you are cooking in camp (or just the back yard). I also have a broad beam LED that illuminates across the front strap, which is great for broad 180 degree vision, and doesn’t blind those you look at.
