Simple but works great! – This product does just what you would expect. Finds studs in your walls easily and then marks them by staying on the wall so you don’t have to guess where the stud was. It’s simple but does the job, love it!

Great tool – This is a good stud identifier for the price. It’s simple and provides a very visible location of studs using magnets to stick to screws/nails in sheet rock/wall coverings. The strong magnet is also handy for helping you pick up metal objects like small nails, screws or metal shavings from drilling without touching them directly with your hands. Another plus is that it doesn’t need batteries and can be attached to the side of a work bench or refrigerator so you can keep it handy. The downside is that it doesn’t actually identify the stud, just the nails/screws that “should be” in the stud. So if the installer was off a little or the screw is barely in the stud, you can miss it.

Great Tool for Problem Walls – I’ve had 3 electronic stud finders over the years and I’ve found that the more expensive it gets, the worse it performs for some reason. When I saw this product in a video, I thought I could solve my problem that day by just going out and buying some rare Earth magnets for a couple bucks and they would work just fine right? After dropping those magnets behind furniture every time I thought I hit a nail head but didn’t (you have to let go to find out right?), I ordered the StudBuddy. The thing about 2 magnets is that they will both try to grab the nail head so the entire piece will shift itself to where the nail is centered between the two magnets, and you can feel for SURE if it’s got a nail before you let go.
