Best sleep mask I’ve ever had! – I am very pleased with this face mask. It is very comfortable and soft, and blocks out light well. I have a small head and I am tired of face masks with non-adjustable elastic bands, which always get stretched out. This one has an adjustable band, and the metal adjustment piece is very flat and not noticeable even though I am a back sleeper.

Best of any! – I like the cheek-deep eye pads, and the cleft for the nose is narrow enough to keep almost all light from entering. I like the softness of the material (non-scratchy), although I’d like a cotton lining better. On all types of non-cotton-lined masks, I add a folded tissue on the inside for comfort (absorption); this also keeps the mask cleaner and helps block light, although this mask (black) doesn’t need more light-blocking. I’m a woman with a large head (most women’s hats are too small) and find the strap to be plenty long enough; I appreciate its slide adjustment – I still have a couple of inches available to loosen it further (Velcro fasteners are annoying and often not long enough). The eyepieces on mine are not contoured (they do lightly touch my eyelids), but this doesn’t bother me at all b/c I can loosen the strap. Possibly the tissue I add helps it stay in place better. I’ve tried ALL kinds of masks, including this one’s closest competitor, and this is by far the best one. Mine (one for bed, one in a nap location!) are several years old now and holding up very well.

I’ve always had problems with insomnia, and after experimenting with many brands of sleep mask I reluctantly decided to try just one more: Alaska Bear. I’ve now been using Alaska Bear for years — I have four of them, so that there will always be one available when the others are being washed — and they are wonderful. They’re comfortable to wear, shut out ALL light, and you’re not even aware that you’re wearing a sleep mask.
