For people who ‘can’t tell’ if the dishwasher is clean or dirty… – ugggghhhhhh… Okay. Look. Some people can look into a dishwasher and clearly see if the dishes are clean or dirty, then there is my sig other. “Oh I didn’t put the dishes in there because I didn’t know if it was clean or not”. or “Oh I didn’t unload it because I didn’t know if they were clean or not”. Maybe you can make me a thing that says ‘clean’ or ‘dirty’ so I will know and then I will finally be able to help you. But ONLY IF YOU REMEMBER to use the thing I am making you buy because apparently my eye/nose can not tell on my own. 5/5 stars. It’s better than the paper one I made, it slides nicely from clean to dirty. It magnets to the dishwasher. My kids play with it. I never give 5 star reviews but this little simple thing, just does what it says it does. Now If I could teach my family common sense..

Easy way to mark dishwasher dishes dirty or clean – Many times our dishwasher does not get emptied right away after running it. A light tells us when it’s done running, but the light goes out once the door is opened, making it sometimes difficult to tell if sides are clean or dirty. This little gadget is such a simple solution for that problem that it makes me wonder why manufacturers don’t just build something like this into the dishwasher door. This has a magnetic backing, and it sticks pretty well to our stainless steel dishwasher door. A couple of double-sided adhesive patches are provided in the event the magnet won’t work on your dishwasher. It is larger in size than I expected, but not overly so, and sliding the little shade between dirty and clean is easy.

My dishwasher has an indicator light when the dishes are clean, only issue… if someone opened the door and took out only 1 clean dish without putting up the other dishes, I would have to investigate closer to see if dishes were clean. This eliminates the guess work, if you remember to flip the sign upon emptying or turning on the dishwasher. The magnets work well on my stainless steel appliance. No need for permanent adhesion.

Fortunately, the magnet works and I didn’t have to use the adhesive. Toddler proof… kinda – My 2 year old likes to steal magnets and hide them around the house like he is the Energizer Easter Bunny. Finally found a magnet we can put on the dishwasher that he is incapable of ripping off.
