Simple set-up – I have numerous Christmas light timers and these have th best instructions (clear and simple). I hope they last as long as the easy set-up, I am very impressed with the ease of use. I would recommend to anyone who needs timers that are simple to program.

We used a different timer for years, and every time the time changed it was a big headache to reset it — lots of twiddly buttons to push in and out, no clear indication of which way was on and which was off.

Per the product description they have only one outlet and can only be programmed for one “on” and “off” time. Programming is simple and straightforward, although the manual “Mode” setting can be confusing when first using the timers — easy to inadvertently leave it in “always on” setting instead of “timer on.” Easily corrected and just requires a little getting used-to, which isn’t unusual with any timer.

I purchased a different brand that came to me as defective – I was still waiting for answer from seller on the defective brand. Since I had an immediate need I saw the Fosman ones and they had a quick delivery. You can’t go wrong with the Fosman timers.

It doesn’t randomize the on or off times, in an attempt to confuse dimwitted burglars. It doesn’t allow you to have it come on and off multiple times a day. It doesn’t allow you to set different times for different days of the week. What it does do is allow you to set it to energize the outlet at a given time every day, then turn it off sometime later in the day. It works reliably and was inexpensive.
