Quick and easy replacement! – Purchased this unit to replace a 22-year-old version from the same manufacturer as originally installed when my home was built. So, durability at 22 years, was not a question when deciding which brand! The R&I removal of the old unit was the messy part, a plastic bin to catch water/gunk is a must. The Installation of the new unit however took less than 10 mins with common tools. There’s only 1 thing I want to remind people of: DON’T FORGET TO BUY A POWER CORD! The unit doesn’t come with one as there are multiple ways one might need to wire it in their individual application – so it makes sense – just let the buyer / installer choose the correct cable!

Good product, good price, arrived faster than anyone else. – I replaced an old badger 5 metal with a new badger 5 plastic. The metal one was over 18 years old and started to leak. I have never changed a disposal before this job was not bad at all. I used old power cord about 10 min to swap. Total time for me to do this swap out about 2 and 1/2 hours with clean up. Very happy with the instructions and the U Tube videos that are a great help. Thanks for a great made in the USA product.

Well made – smooth operation and perfect replacement for Badger model 500-1 – When my original InSinkErator Badger Model 500 started to leak at the motor housing I decided it was time for a replacement. I am not exactly sure how old the unit is, but I estimate it had so be at last 15 years old….probably a lot more. It still worked fine but the leak started to get pretty bad and based on the information I could find it is a common issue with older Badger disposals. Still 15+ years of service is pretty good so I decided to get another InSinkErator brand disposal partly due to the newer ones still using the same quick lock mounting system but also because I appreciate the compact design and smooth quiet operation of my old one.

2 1/2 hour install – I built/designed my own home. This is my 3rd Badger, bought the same Badger 5 on Amazon (noticed on home depot site Badger is now calling the 5 model listed as the “500” but it is same/spec. unit only now 40 dollars more!!!!). I am experienced builder don’t know how some rookies on reviews say they install in same time? I have all the tools and know what I am doing. Had to take apart the old one to get the cord out that took some time. One thing I noticed that there sure was the gunk inside the old unit and up under the lip of the rubber shield at the top at sink basin, will never again grab something to eat that drops down inside unit, bacteria hotel!!!! Other than that it is best to replace with same unit, makes all connections easy!

Replacement InSinkErator – Purchased InSinkErator to replace exact same model. Not sure how old the unit I replaced as it was in the home when I purchased. The old unit was loud and stopped working. I major consideration in purchasing a replacement was the noise level. I eventually purchased the same model primarily because I felt it would be easier to install. While I had the unit installed I was pleasantly surprised to learn/hear that the new unit was fairly quiet in comparison to the old unit.

Perfect for standard use – This disposal is perfect for small use. If you don’t need a disposal that can grind up fruit pits and meat bones, this is the one to get.
