Great value if you don’t use 3 way switches – I will start by saying I have Casetta and Kasa products. There are pros and cons to both, but overall I think Kasa is a WONDERFUL value if you don’t use 3 ways. All my single pole switches were a breeze. My first 3 way was challenging, but calling customer support helped fix it (the chat was not successful in finding the real problem). Now that 3 way (and the second one I got two) do not work. They replaced the first one with a different version which seems to be fine. Getting the second one replaced appears to be impossible. I would ensure you are getting version 2 of any three-way switch, version 1.X does not appear to work.

Works as expected! – This is a review of a Version 1 kit. I followed the instructions, the graphic schematics made it easy enough to understand (at least for me.) My switches happened to be wired and color-code just as the instructions indicted. Connected all the wires, turned it on and connected it via Kasa app and all is well. Integrates with Alexa and I can voice control on/off and percent brightness. “Alex, set the Kitchen Lights to 50%.”

Straightforward install and easy to use – I’ve installed a few of these in my house and had no issues. The switch is a bit deeper than a normal on/off switch. This does make it a tiny difficult to get everything tucked back into the electrical box if you have a lot of wires, but overall it’s a straightforward install.

Get the New Version 2.8 – I bought a bunch of Kasa and this 3 way dimmers, not all of 3-way dimmers are working properly, one of the older 1.8 version did not work properly, the satellite one did not turn off the light. So I end up getting the newer 2.8 version and they worked properly so far, but I’m sure how long they will last.

My entire house has these – So, I built a new house two years ago and put all Kasa switches in—they work well, but I do have one issue—when I run something like the washing machine, or dish washer my LED lights get backfeed through them. My old house I had to put in expensive dimmer switches which stopped the blinking lights—I tried everything from changing the lightbulbs to changing the fixtures—the only thing that worked was changing the light switches. Otherwise—I love everything else about KASA.
