Amazing! – I have never written an Amazon review before for any product until this one! This year, when we put up our pre-lit tree, we noticed several sections were out. We tried replacing the fuses, and then started trying to replace bulbs one by one with no way of knowing which bulb it was. I was starting to think we would just have to get a new tree (expensive! wasteful!), when I went to Youtube and saw this thing in action. Could it really be as good as the video seemed to say? I’m here to tell you YES! It fixed our tree with ONE click. We were amazed and delighted by this holiday magic. We were able to see which bulbs were still out and replace them quickly and easily, and they even include 10 replacement bulbs for you conveniently stored in the HANDLE of the light keeper tool. Genius, I tell you. No more little ziplock baggie of random light replacements floating around in the bottom of the storage bin. If you’ve got holiday lights that need fixing, buy this thing and be pleasantly surprised like me.

Works great! – Fixed 6 strings of lights that I almost threw away. Voltage detector could be better, it’s intermittent and takes a little practice. Otherwise the unit works great. A number of great YouTube videos on how to use this.

Might work for some sets. – While this might work for some lights, it did not fix our pre lit tree, but I’m not blaming the tool, I’m blaming the tree. Upon this not working, we decided to pull and check several bulbs in the section that doesn’t work, and they were all burned, which according to the instructions, means the string has reached the end of its life. This tree is 6 years old, and was purchased at Big Lots for $50, so I feel we got our moneys worth out of it. We’ll just toss it at the end of the holiday season, and get a new tree and move on.

Well worth it – Helped me fix four strands of net lights this year. Note, because net lights have wire channels on both sides of the bulb, you’ll have to break the channel on one side off to use the shunt tool, but doing that on one light doesn’t really mess anything up anyway.

videos look great – Unfortunately, this didn’t help us as we had 2 entire lines out on our pre-lit tree. Apparently, both of our lines were blown and we just had to add more lights. Maybe if we had found this earlier and when the lights were newly out it would’ve worked. It’s been a year and we thought we’d give it a shot. Our lights have a dark shadow along the base of the bulb indicating the entire line is blown, it didn’t know this until after we purchased the product.
