Good not great – Purchased this to hopefully make my life easier when using the solder connectors. It works alright but honestly has trouble getting hot enough to melt the solder. Had to spend a good 4 or 5 minutes on each connector to get the solder to mostly melt. The pros of this unit are it’s portability and maneuverability. This thing is very light and easy to use no matter where, for my use it was over my head on ladder. If your just needing to use on shrink wrap or something like that this would probably be great for you.

Convenient and easy to handle heat gun – I was impressed with the build quality overall. The form factor makes it easy to use and maneuver with greater precision than a full size unit. It is fairly quiet and achieves it’s preset heat level fairly quickly. There is a little built in stand that does seem pretty flimsy so we will see how well that holds up.

No more burnt fingers – Like many of you, I need a heat source for shrink tubes and other applications. A flame is ok, but it leaves black marks and often burns the plastic. A full size heat gun is better, but it’s too big, too hot and stays hot for a long time. This tool heats quickly and puts heat right where you need it. You can hold the wires with one hand and heat with the other. No more burnt fingers. The heat diffuser plate works perfectly to direct the heat around the shrink tubing and away from delicate components. The heating elements are inside, so you can hold the tool without fear. You can also store it quicker because it’s not flamin hot for 2 hours after you stop. Great tool at a great price.
