The best keeps getting better. – Finally got around to installing this. I had purchased it for our back yard but the existing light was at a weird angle so I put in on our front porch which was an easy wall mount. The only glitch was I needed to increase the brightness on my cell phone so the camera could read the installation QR code in bright daylight. Plenty of customizations available to fit your needs. Blown away by how good the image and night vision is on V3 and will probably wind up replacing my older wyze cameras even though they have served us well for years.

Wyze is the best on a budget – I like the hardware itself. I think to maintain their ranking over time they will need to hold prices but up the resolution to 2k or 4k. The app while not the best is workable and you can use tinycampro as a more stable viewer. This is a more elegant solution to the light socket with a usb. The lights are bright and the activation customization is nice!

Good but buggy – First of all i’d just like to say the picture quality and low light sensitivity are very good. The light is also very bright and the motion detection is pretty sensitive. The downside is it doesn’t always send me alerts. it did in the beginning, but now i’m getting no motion alerts. also I had quite a bit of trouble with the initial setup. the camera WOULD NOT scan the QR code off my phone no matter what I did. I recommend setting up and updating the camera before you install it. I had to end up bringing it back inside and scanning the QR code off my computer screen. Stability is an issue too, the camera randomly goes offline but that could be due to my wifi, though I know another person who has the same floodlight/camera further away than I have mine and his works fine. The app can be a little wonky and unresponsive at times too. Not sure if it’s connectivity issues or the app itself. Overall i’d say this is a good product but the bugs are annoying.

Pretty good but has some bugs. – Easy to install and set up with the Wyze app. I have three v3 cameras and they work without a problem. But this flood light takes itself off line every now and then. And the only way to reconnect to the network is to turn the power off and then on and it reconnects just fine. But for a security device it is a real negative.

Awesome Light/Good Camera BUT I really don’t understand the whole subscription thing – I bought two of these thinking that I could get away with not having to pay a monthly subscription however, to see the full benefits of these you do need to actually buy some sort of a subscription. Through doing some research online I did find a loophole as the company does make a video that tells you, even though they say you need to buy a subscription you can go on and get their basic plan and then put in that you don’t want to pay anything as the monthly premium is just a suggestion, however doing this does not give you the full benefits of detection on this camera. So far the detection and notifications have been a little wonky. Sometimes it detects a shadow from the sun even when I have it on low detection and other times somebody walks right past the path of the camera and it doesn’t notice a thing. Also notifications sometimes will come to my phone after somebody walks in my house. (Family members but you can imagine if they weren’t…) ultimately, I may be being a little harsh on these things honestly for the money it’s still pretty impressive what they can do. I can monitor what’s going on outside from my phone from anywhere as well as talk through these and turn a siren on and the night vision is pretty nice that you couldn’t even see anything so there are some definite pluses to it. It’s just a lot to ask out of a surveillance camera, I think at this price point.

The ads you’ll get are obnoxious – The camera works great. Morion detection, night vision, flood light are all great. The constant ads you’ll get from Wyze are obnoxious. I get more notifications from advertisements than i get for activity detected by the camera. My fear is that if i turn the notifications off, I’ll miss actual camera notifications.

great value, punches above its price point – I had a dumb motion sensor flood light wired to the corner of my garage that never worked that great, and sometime in the last year the bulbs burned out, and while I was being lazy about replacing them, I started checking into a smarter replacement. There are a number of options that seemed pretty good, but this product from Wyze stood out as being more affordable than a lot of the other options, and I’ve had good experiences with Wyze products in the past as well. I’m glad I pulled the trigger. The installation was straightforward (fairly intuitive, but good instructions as well as a helpful hanger accessory included in the box to help during the wiring process). The only issue I had was that the unit came with the wire connecting the camera to the unit connected, but not fully plugged in. This was not obvious, and for a while it just looked like I had a DOA camera. It took a few minutes of messing around before I figured that out (the plug is pretty snug, given that it needs to be protected from the elements outside), and once I did it was all good. The coverage of both the motion sensor and camera are really good, video quality is excellent, and the versatility of the product (i.e. you don’t have to use their cloud service for this to be a useful product, but they’re also actively working on features for that service that make it worthwhile for people) makes me glad I went with this option.

Wyze wired the only way to go – Wyse wired cameras are trouble free as far as maintaining connection and use with Alexa vs the wireless Wyze camera which are a joke. This camera and floodlight works very well, just as you would hope. The only challenge is installation. The mounting screws are too long. Either you drill and tap the enclosure to take the length of the screws or buy shorter 3/8″ long 10-24 screws. You choose.
